Cancer Research UK SPIKE-1 Trial

Clinical trial to find treatment
Cancer Research UK SPIKE-1 Trial (clinical trial to find treatment)

Have you recently tested positive for COVID-10 and are 50, or over 18 with significant risk factors? Are you experiencing a high temperature (37.8°C or higher), shortness of breath, or a continuous and persistent cough? If yes, you could be eligible for the SPIKE-1 clinical trial, aiming to help find a treatment for COVID-19.

To join, you must not have any of the following conditions: lung disease, cardiovascular disease, pregnancy, cancer or other illnesses, and lactose intolerance. The trial aims to evaluate the use of a drug called camostat, which could reduce the need for hospitalisation and improve symptoms in people with COVID-19. Camostat has been licenced in Japan & Korea for over 30 years to treat Pancreatitis.

This trial is being run by Cancer Research UK’s Centre for Drug Development and is fully funded by LifeArc.
