Researchers in Tayside are looking for people with COPD to take part in a study. It will test a new drug called Astegolimab, to see if it reduces COPD symptoms and flare-ups.
In this study, one third of people will receive the study drug Astegolimab, one third will receive a placebo, and the last third will receive both the drug and placebo on alternating visits. This would be in addition to your normal COPD medication.
The study will last for approximately 1 year, with visits to Ninewells hospital to receive an injection of the study drug or the placebo, every 2 weeks. You will also be asked to keep a daily diary on an electronic device given to you by the hospital.
