Researchers at the University of Dundee and NHS Tayside are looking for healthy volunteers to take part in a study investigating the effects on the skin of a new device.

Dermatologists use a device called a monochromator to help them identify individuals who have increased sensitivity to light. These devices are used in routine clinical testing at the photobiology unit, however they are expensive and testing can take a long time.

A team of researchers have developed a new phototest device which will be quicker and less expensive. They are looking for healthy volunteers to help them test this device and work out the right doses of light required so they can utilise it with patients who suffer from altered light sensitivity.

This study involves a maximum of five visits to the photobiology unit at Ninewells hospital and you will be reimbursed travel expenses and compensated for your time.
