Cake Not Hate Dunfermline

Update on SHARE's attendance at the Cake Not Hate event in Dunfermline.

SHARE is for everyone who has an interest in health research regardless of race, ethnicity, religion or health status. We were delighted to attend a ‘Cake not Hate’ event at Dunfermline’s Green Dome Mosque to show our support for the cause, which aims to promote inclusion and the values of tolerance, respect and kindness. ‘The Joshie-Man’ has been touring Scotland, visiting mosques and handing out homemade cakes in response to a hate crime at a mosque near his home.

Joshua Harris is autistic and non-speaking. At around age 4 he began using an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) device which dramatically changed his ability to communicate. Joshua and his dad Dan co-founded the Let Them Have Their Voices (LTHTV) campaign to raise funds and awareness to provide AAC devices to children whose families cannot afford them.

We at SHARE aim to promote inclusion and acceptance, and do what we can to help others. By joining SHARE and helping with health research, you can make a difference to Scotland’s future health and help in the development of devices like AAC which improve the health and wellbeing of the people who use them.
