SHARE's support of Rare Disease Day 2026.
On the 28th February 2026, SHARE took part in the global Light Up for Rare campaign to raise awareness for Rare Disease Day. The University of Dundee's Life Sciences building was lit up to show support for people with rare diseases, their carers and their loved ones.
3 million people around the world live with a rare disease - approximately 1,000 for every person on the SHARE register. 72% of rare diseases are genetic, and new treatments and cures for disease are not possible without research.
