SHARE turned 15 this year! On the 27th July 2011, 85 people signed up to be the very first SHARE participants. 15 years later, that number had grown to over 313,000.
We celebrated with a presentation by SHARE Director Professor Colin Palmer on the last 15 years of health research that SHARE has been able to support. We also hosted a birthday card-making workshop at Ninewells Community Garden, which was attended by members of the public.
We were delighted to be featured in a news article by NHS Research Scotland, which you can read here. The article features a quote by Dr Kevin McConville, one of the very first people to join the SHARE Register.
We are continuing to celebrate this important milestone throughout the year. Keep an eye out for our “wish boards” in Dundee, Glasgow, Edinburgh and elsewhere, where we are asking people to share their hopes for the next 15 years of health research.
